Adam Smith joined PECC in 1996 working within the Data Services division.  His creative skill, technical ability and design quickly became apparent and he worked on a number of internal software design projects at PECC for the workstation services, transcription and finance departments.

He was selected for the workstation services group in 1997 and from there was the first new member of staff chosen to be recruited to GDM in 1999, acting as Aberdeen regional manager. 

Additional career highlights include:

2001
Design, development and implementation of a web based tool for Total Fina   to assist subsurface users with auditing/tracking geophysical data stored in both project and corporate repositories.

2002
Technical lead/consultant for the implementation of Total Fina’s (Stavanger) project archive and disaster recovery strategy.

2003
Technical lead for Chevron Texaco’s (Aberdeen) subsurface computing/data consolidation and rationalization project.

2005
Resource for Shell’s Pathfinder project, providing technical assistance with respect to the infrastructure and installation of the multiple components contained within the global project, such as Landmark’s Corporate Data Store, PowerExplorer, ADT, RDM and Schlumberger’s PointSource and ProSource.

He currently provides consultancy services to a major oil company in Holland and is principal web-site developer behind the oilrecruiter.net and oilforums.net sites
